RSVP for Thursday

As we prepare for the next Thursday evening of chess at the Tyler Street location this question stands alone........

WHAT TIME CONTROLS SHOULD WE USE?

The goal is to play a 3 round robin by seeding the players into groups of 3 or 4. We plan to keep a record of the results each week and re-seed the players according to a club rating system based loosely on the USCF rating system.
Some of the issues revolve around shorter time controls, more games or longer times and the ability to write down the moves.

Leave a "COMMENT" and RSVP for Thursday and let us know what you think about the time controls.........

I will be there on Thursday and I think I would like to record my games. 30/0 would be my choice.

30 would be good. It would give less experienced players a chance to learn more about openings, plus it would allow enough time to record moves.

30 mins is a little quick to be playing and recording moves. if you want the game records, then the time should at least be game/60 min or longer. games 31 - 59 min is in a very gray area for recording moves. sometimes the less experienced player will waste time recording moves
